Will Redskins rookie QB Robert Griffin III make it into the Hall of Fame? Well, in a way, he already has

On Wednesday, the Hall collected the grass- and dirt-stained burgundy jersey and cleats worn by Griffin when he set the NFL single-season record for yards rushing by a quarterback in the Washington Redskins' win over the New York Giants.

Griffin ran five times for 72 yards in the 17-16 victory Monday night, giving him 714 yards on the season and topping the mark of 706 set last year by Cam Newton.

Baltimore Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs -- aka T-Sizzle -- is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, but he either strained or tore a bicep last Sunday in Baltimore's home loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Will he play on Sunday in Washington? Nobody knows yet. He's listed as day-to-day, but vows to play if at all possible.

How much does it matter if Suggs plays? Well, it might not matter much if he's playing so hurt that he's not an effective player. But if he IS an effective player, it helps the Ravens a lot because of his ability to get pressure on the QB. With a healthy T-Sizzle in the lineup, the Ravens don't need to blitz as often. The Ravens prefer to rush with just four defenders.

According to ESPN Stats & Information's John McTigue, the Ravens have the second-best Total QBR allowed (28.9) since Week 7 sending such pressure after posting the second-worst in the first six weeks of the season.

That means the Ravens feel they need to blitz more without Suggs to generate a pass rush, which could work to Baltimore's disadvantage Sunday. Sending five or more rushers hasn't been a successful strategy against RG3. Against the blitz, RG3 has completed 68.2 percent of his passes for nine touchdowns and no interceptions. His QBR against the four-man rush is 74.1, and his QBR against the blitz is 98.4.

The Redskins activated OT Tom Compton from the practice squad to the active roster. That might mean Trent Williams is hurt worse than we thought. Or it might not. Compton is a 2012 6th round draft pick who was released in the final cuts back in preseason and then re-signed to the practice squad. He takes the roster spots vacated by CB Cedric Griffin, who was suspended for PED use.

The Redskins signed inebacker Kourtnei Brown and cornerback Korey Lindsey to the practice squad.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh seems to have given up his quest to get Redskins fans to abandon the Burgundy 'n Gold for the Purple 'n Black. Now he just wants fans of both teams to root for both teams. Not sure why that matters to him.
