RGIII Has Torn ACL And LCL

Written by tomblaz on . Posted in Washington Redskins

An MRI on Robert Griffin III's right knee reveals a partially torn ACL and LCL. According to a report from the Washington Post, it's not yet known if the injuries are old or new.

Griffin will undergo further tests under the supervision of team Doctor James Andrews, but it's not yet clear whether surgery will be required or how long Griffin will be sidelined.

RGIII had reconstructive surgery on that same right knee while playing at Baylor University.

Yeah, Jon -- I think a grade 2 is about the best-case scenario for RG3 and one we have to hope for.

IF its true and its partial tears, then its a Grade II injury and even if surgery is required its not usually as difficult or lengthy of a recovery period . . . its hard to believe that AP was able to recover from a Grade III ACL AND MCL tear (complete tear), but that gives us Redskins fan hope for RGIII to be ready for week 1 . . . i sure hope so!!!
