Wizards lock up Andray Blatche

I suppose that title could be misunderstood, but what's happened is that the Washington Wizards have signed PF Andray Blatche to a contract extension until 2015, according to the Washington Post. Blatche had two more years left on his contract, but the Wiz didn't want him becoming a free agent in 2012 so they've tacked on another 3 years to his deal. Considering Blatche's performance in the second half of last season and the modesty of his existing contract, I imagine his extension will be considerably more generous, but we don't have any details yet.

Washington has also picked up the 4th year option, at $2.4 million, for center Javale McGee. This is a no-brainer, obviously, because the Wiz expect McGee to be their starting center this year.
