John Wall is the real thing
With 4 minutes and 30 seconds left in the first quarter John Wall backpedaledĀ near the free throw line and fired away. Thus did he make his first basket as a Washington Wizard last night in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Wall started shaky and committed 8 turnovers on the night, but he also scored 24 points and dished 8 dimes. He really took over the game in the second half, scoring 15 of his points after halftime and dominating play down the stretch as he led the Wizkids to an 84-79 victory over the Golden State Warrior babies. Wall shot 7 of 15 from the field and 10 of 11 at the stripe, but some of his best moves were passes made to center Javale McGee, who threw down several highlight-worthy dunks on the night.
ESPN has some comments from hoops pros who watched Wall's debut last night in Las Vegas. After the comments, check out video highlights of the game.
