The Washington Wizards cut QF Adam Morrison and PF Sean Marks today. Morrison, the 3rd overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, has been a huge disappointment in the NBA, incapable of hitting shots the way he did in college and a massive liability on defense and the glass. The Wizards are thin at quick forward, with Josh Howard injured and the other options, such as Al Thornton, unproven. Sean Marks is a journeyman big man who played with the New Orleans Hornets the last two seasons. He's been a marginal player his entire career, never averaging more than 4.6 points per game.
The Wizards currently have 13 players on the roster now that they have finished with their 3-4 preseason. The roster looks like this:
|John Wall||Point Guard|
|Kirk Hinrich||Combo Guard|
|Gilbert Arenas||Combo Guard|
|Nick Young||Shooting Guard|
|Al Thornton||Quick Forward|
|Yi Jianlian||Combo Forward|
|Josh Howard *||Quick Forward|
|Trevor Booker||Combo Forward|
|Kevin Seraphin||Power Forward|
|Andray Blatche||Power Forward|
* Injured and unavailable until late November/early December.
