Wizards Second Round Pick

 

Holding the second pick in the second round, the Wizards are in position to acquire first round value.

Many team reach in the NBA draft, which may benefit Washington. While this may help the Wizards, they need to do some reaching of their own by selecting shooting guards with range with both draft selections.

With free agency probably limited to secondary targets, these two draft picks are going to be critical. As it stands now, Washington has ZERO range and will face sagging zone defenses night after night. Zone defenses are a popular choice against Miami, but look what Mike Miller did.

Is there any doubt that Florida freshman sensation Bradley Beal will be their first round selection? The only thing keeping Beal away from the nation's capital would be Charlotte taking him and that's not going to happen.

How about that second round pick? Vanderbilt's John Jenkins is the answer. Jenkins was "lights out" at the NBA combine in Chicago early this month.
