Irene Pollin to be at NBA Draft lottery

Irene Pollin, widow of former Wizards and Capitals owner Abe Pollin, will represent the Washington Wizards at the NBA Draft lottery on Tuesday. She doesn't exactly have a great record at the lottery, having represented the Wizards back in 1993 when they won the 6th pick, but since no one else associated with the franchise has a good record at the lottery either, this seems like a nice way to honor Ms Pollin's late husband, who moved the team to Washington, founded the Capitals and built the Capitol Center and the Verizon Center.

The NBA Draft will be held on June 24 and Ted Leonsis, who should be majority owner by that time, will be at the Draft himself.

This is how the lottery odds look for Washington:

1. New Jersey (12-70) 25 percent
2. Minnesota (15-67) 19.9 percent
3. Sacramento (25-57) 15.6 percent
4. Golden State (26-56) 10.4 percent
5. Washington (26-56) 10.3 percent

The team can do no worse than eighth, so eighth is what I expect.
