Wizards Fall In Opener

The Wizards battled back from a double digit second half deficit but came up short, losing to the Cavaliers in Cleveland 94-84. Playing without John Wall and Nene, Washington actually led in the fourth quarter before running out of gas.

Jordan Crawford led the Wizards with eleven points, with Emeka Okafor added ten points, seven rebounds and blocked four shots. Washington shot only 36% from the floor and 60% from the line.

Last season's rookie of the year Kyrie Irving led all scorers with 29 points, while center Anderson Varejao added nine points, nine assists and pulled down 23 rebounds.

The Wizards are off until Saturday night when they host the Boston Celtics in their home opener at the Verizon Center.
